Project ADAM is designed to empower youths (14-24) to reduce at-risk behaviors, such as gun violence, substance abuse, gang engagement, teen dating and sexual violence, intimate partner violence (IPV); and bullying, while building and strengthening character using critical mentoring as a foundation.

Youths:

Project ADAM uses critical mentoring theory to empower youths (14-24 y.o.) We employs the assistance of positive African-American and Latino role models to mentor youths, with the goal of reducing at-risk behaviors, to include but not limited to gun violence, substance abuse, gang engagement, teen pregnancy and fatherhood; teen dating and sexual violence, intimate partner violence (IPV); and bullying. The overall objective of all mentoring activities is to help build and strengthen the character of young at-risk boys, empowering them to become strong character-based men.

Mentors:

All mentors working with Project ADAM are trained in the critical mentoring theory, which pairs positive adult males with youths, from similar backgrounds and experiences.
Mentors are asked to commit a minimum of one year, while engaging youths twice a week for at least 1 hour per session.
Mentoring is group-based and may be in-person or virtual.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor, this is what you need to know…
